I never finished the video.. the section where I talked to senator Merkley at the meeting.. that part.. I blew it.. I edited out all of the "uuhhhhh" sections as it was too much for me to handle... I got a bit ruffled, thrown off and my mind went totally blank, I stood there for a second hoping my thoughts would return, they didnt so I had to wing-it. It was a bit embarrassing looking like a fool, but nobody takes you for one, no matter how bad you might choke here and there, when people see a genuine effort they are very forgiving (generally).. Also i never really got anything to sink my teeth in to with this vid, .. i need a story to chase down personally, to hunt, to bite in to. My efforts with this vid, or the problem with this vid, in retrospec was trying to make a conventional video and ignoring what it is that I actually bring to the table with video journalism. Anyone can learn to use a piece of software and make cool graphics and ask conventional questions during th! ose opportune times., but leading, telling and nudging people down your course of thought without them realizing it is what I can do. You can see it pretty clear in the education vid. The problem is that I as a journalist, I took advantage of peoples charity with me (who in my model are the very victims I am trying to defend), none of these people owed me anything, they exposed themselves because I asked them to while posing as a friendly student journalist.
